The difference to no parking
Under a no parking sign you may stop briefly to let someone out. Under no stopping you may not. The red cross on blue is the right choice wherever even a short stop blocks the way.
Where it goes
- in front of emergency exits and fire lanes on private ground
- at narrow passages and bends on the premises
- in front of gates that must open at any time
Good to know
On public roads and on private areas open to public traffic, the authorities decide on the signs. On your own ground you may use this sign as a notice.
