Personalise your sign
No frame. Switch it on if the sign should have one.
You then design freely: logo and pictures anywhere, the size stays fixed. This template stays unchanged.
Hinweisschild «Dieses Gebäude wird videoüberwacht»
If you film, you must say so. The sign shows everyone that filming is going on and deters unwanted visitors before the camera records anything.

Deterrent and notice in one
A camera nobody knows about deters nobody. A clearly visible notice does: many thieves and sprayers look for another target when they see they're being filmed. At the same time it helps you inform everyone entering your building. The name and contact of the person responsible belong on the sign too, as Swiss data protection law requires.
Where it goes
- at entrances of shops, offices and apartment buildings
- at car parks, underground garages and bike rooms
- at stores, depots and yard entrances
Good to know
Under Swiss data protection law, people must be able to recognise that they're being filmed and who is responsible. So add the name and contact of the person responsible as your own text, and hang the sign where people see it before they walk into the picture. The Federal Data Protection Commissioner (FDPIC) publishes a guide on this.
